Transforming Aged Care: How Kalyra Improved Services with Boomi Integration

Revolutionizing Aged Care with Digital Transformation

Kalyra, a trusted aged care provider with over 130 years of service in South Australia, has taken a significant leap forward in enhancing client care and workforce efficiency through an ambitious digital transformation. Leveraging the cutting-edge Boomi Enterprise Platform, the organization has streamlined its data systems, introduced new digital services, and accelerated its workforce onboarding processes.

“Accuracy is critical in aged care, and it begins with robust digital systems that empower our care workers,” said Nicole Fishers, General Manager of Information and Digital Services at Kalyra. Recognizing inefficiencies caused by siloed and inconsistent data across its systems, Kalyra set out on a mission to centralize its operations, ultimately improving the client experience.

Breaking Down Data Silos with Boomi’s Integration Platform

Kalyra adopted Boomi’s integration platform as a service (iPaaS) to create a connected ecosystem. By implementing a hub-and-spoke model, the organization integrated key platforms such as Elmo (Human Resources), AlayaCare (home care system), iCare (residential care system), CarePage (customer experience system), and its My Kalyra mobile app. This integration ensures that all client-facing and internal systems remain accurate and up-to-date in real-time.

The My Kalyra app has revolutionized how families interact with care services. Families now enjoy mobile-friendly access to real-time updates, can adjust care schedules on demand, and have full transparency into financial information. For care staff, the centralized system eliminates the need to chase outdated data, enabling them to focus on delivering high-quality, personalized care.

Streamlining Workforce Onboarding and Management

The integration has also addressed challenges in workforce management. Previously, onboarding new staff was hampered by manual processes and redundant data entry. With Boomi’s DataHub, Kalyra has created a single source of truth, reducing errors and duplication. “Our streamlined system has significantly sped up the onboarding process and provided better support for our workforce,” said Fishers.

Additionally, the new data framework has strengthened Kalyra’s reporting capabilities, enabling the organization to meet compliance and regulatory standards more efficiently.

Planning for the Future: AI and Robotics in Aged Care

Looking ahead, Kalyra aims to integrate AI and robotics to further enhance its services. These innovative technologies are expected to automate routine tasks in residential care, freeing up staff to focus on meaningful interactions with residents. Boomi will remain at the core of this transformation, ensuring seamless coordination within Kalyra’s data ecosystem.

“Innovations like these will allow us to provide more personalized and efficient care experiences,” Fishers noted. This forward-thinking approach aligns with broader trends in healthcare technology, as organizations increasingly adopt AI-driven solutions to improve services.
