South Korea to House the World’s Most Powerful AI Data Hub

South Korea is making a bold move in artificial intelligence by constructing the world’s largest AI data center.

In an ambitious step towards technological supremacy, South Korea has unveiled plans to develop the largest AI data infrastructure globally. The initiative is spearheaded by Fir Hills, a subsidiary of California-based Stock Farm Road, Inc. (SFR). Construction is set to begin in the winter of 2025, with the facility projected to generate a staggering $3.5 billion in annual revenue.

A Strategic Partnership for AI Leadership

Located in Jeollanam-do Province, the project is a result of collaboration between industry pioneers. SFR, co-founded by LG heir Brian Koo and technology veteran Dr. Amin Badr-El-Din, is leveraging its expertise to establish a next-generation AI ecosystem. The initiative is valued at an initial $10 billion, with potential expansion to $35 billion, positioning it as a game-changer in global AI development.

Unrivaled Capacity and Cutting-Edge Technology

With a projected 3-gigawatt power capacity upon its completion in 2028, the AI data center will surpass all existing facilities. It is designed to accommodate the demanding requirements of AI systems, featuring advanced cooling technologies, high-speed fiber connectivity, and energy-efficient infrastructure. These elements will provide seamless support for AI-driven applications across various industries.

Economic and Technological Impact

Beyond technological advancements, the data center will serve as a major economic catalyst for South Korea. The development is expected to create over 10,000 jobs spanning multiple sectors, including renewable energy, equipment manufacturing, and research & development. Furthermore, it will support numerous multinational corporations, hyperscalers, and AI developers, reinforcing South Korea’s status as a global AI powerhouse.

A Vision for the Future

This monumental project is just the beginning of a broader AI expansion strategy. SFR has plans to establish similar AI infrastructure initiatives across Asia, Europe, and the United States within the next 18 months. By integrating Energy-to-Intelligence (e2i²) solutions, the company aims to revolutionize traditional energy systems and drive AI innovation on a global scale.

South Korea has long been a leader in technology, with companies like Samsung, LG, and Hyundai setting benchmarks in their respective domains. The construction of this massive AI data center solidifies the nation’s ambitions to dominate the artificial intelligence landscape and usher in a new era of digital revolution.

As AI continues to transform industries worldwide, South Korea’s investment in intelligent infrastructure is a bold testament to its commitment to innovation and economic growth.
