Keysight Technologies has launched its latest Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software portfolio, marking a significant leap in how engineers meet the demands of next-generation technologies. As the electronics industry races towards advancements in 5G/6G and data center applications, Keysight’s new suite of EDA tools leverages AI, machine learning (ML), and Python integrations to dramatically reduce design time for complex RF and chiplet products.
The EDA 2025 software suite aims to address critical challenges throughout the development lifecycle. By enhancing data manipulation, integration, and control over best-in-class simulators, engineers can seamlessly build efficient workflows. This AI-enhanced approach, combined with high-performance computing, reduces time-to-insight, allowing faster transitions from simulation to verification and compliance, giving engineers more confidence in their designs.
For fast digital interconnects, the software offers highly accurate end-to-end component models that conform to digital standards, providing a comprehensive digital twin for tackling complex design challenges in digital electronics.
Key Benefits of EDA 2025
The EDA 2025 software brings several innovative features, including:
- RF Circuit Design: Through open, automatable workflows, engineers can accelerate RF design cycles. Python integration enables rapid consolidation of data from different sources into a cohesive dataset, boosting AI/ML model training.
- High-Speed Digital Design: Engineers can now create precise digital twins for complex SerDes designs, including Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe), memory, USB®, and PCIe® standards. The Advanced Design System (ADS) 2025 release enables unparalleled accuracy for chiplet and memory interface designs.
- Device Modeling and Characterization: Keysight’s IC-CAP 2025 release reduces device model re-centering time by 10X, thanks to integrated AI/ML capabilities. Python workflows further streamline and automate the modeling process, making it faster and more efficient.
AI’s Role in Revolutionizing Design
According to Nilesh Kamdar, General Manager of Keysight’s EDA Design & Verification, AI is transforming the way engineers tackle complex challenges. The automation of traditionally time-consuming tasks allows engineers to focus on innovation rather than repetitive refinements, ultimately leading to productivity gains. Kamdar emphasized that having an open, interoperable workflow is key to the successful use of AI and ML in engineering applications.
Stephen Slater, Director of Product Management at Keysight, highlighted how engineers can now import data from measurements or simulations to train neural network models, which execute quickly in subsequent simulations. This opens up new possibilities for co-optimizing large portions of the RF design in one go, significantly speeding up the development process.
