AMI has officially introduced AMI Data Center Manager (DCM) version 6.0, a major update designed to enhance AI infrastructure management and optimize GPU performance.
Revolutionizing Data Center Management
The latest iteration of AMI DCM brings a host of new features aimed at improving the efficiency and scalability of modern data centers. With an increasing demand for AI and high-performance computing (HPC), the new version enhances monitoring capabilities for utilization, energy consumption, and thermal performance, ensuring optimal return on investment (ROI) and cost savings.
Expanded Server and GPU Support
AMI DCM v6.0 has significantly broadened its compatibility, offering expanded support for AMD-based servers and, for the first time, Arm®-based servers from NVIDIA® and Ampere®. This evolution underscores AMI’s commitment to a vendor-agnostic approach, providing a unified management solution for diverse IT infrastructures.
Additionally, AMI DCM now supports a wide range of NVIDIA data center GPUs, including the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 platform. This integration allows administrators to track GPU health, performance, and power consumption in real time, enhancing resource utilization and efficiency for AI-driven workloads.
Addressing Thermal Management Challenges
With the growing deployment of high-density AI and GPU clusters, thermal management has become a critical concern. The new AMI DCM release introduces support for liquid cooling solutions, ensuring optimal temperature control and prolonged hardware longevity.
Optimizing Energy Consumption and Sustainability
A key highlight in this release is the ability to calculate and monitor Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE) in real time. By integrating directly with power meters, data centers can dynamically optimize their energy consumption, significantly boosting sustainability efforts and reducing operational costs.
Flexible Licensing for Scalable Growth
For the first time, AMI DCM introduces tiered, feature-based licensing, allowing organizations to scale their data center management solutions based on their specific needs. This new model provides cost-effective expansion options for businesses of all sizes.
Industry-Leading Innovation
“AMI DCM v6.0 represents a pivotal evolution in our approach to managing complex data center environments,” said Zach Bobroff, Chief Product Officer at AMI. “By expanding our focus on AI infrastructure, GPUs, and advanced energy tracking, we are enabling data centers to meet and exceed performance and sustainability goals.”
