Versa Unveils MCP Server to Boost AI-Driven Network and Security Operations

Versa Networks has introduced its latest innovation, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server — a powerful solution designed to seamlessly integrate Agentic AI tools with the VersaONE Universal SASE Platform for enhanced visibility, faster incident resolution, and improved operational efficiency.

Revolutionizing AI Access to Network and Security Systems

The newly launched MCP Server empowers AI-driven assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and custom-built copilots to securely query Versa systems via API access. This breakthrough enables NetOps and SecOps teams to troubleshoot and manage security and network issues without toggling between multiple dashboards and tools, significantly streamlining their workflows.

“Our goal with the MCP Server is to combat alert fatigue and elevate productivity by allowing AI agents to securely retrieve critical Versa system context,” shared Apurva Mehta, CTO at Versa. “As an open-source project available on GitHub, organizations can quickly integrate it into their own processes.”

The Versa MCP Server is already operational among select customers and will be demonstrated at the upcoming RSA Conference 2025 (Booth #960, South Expo Hall).

Streamlining Troubleshooting with Unified Access

Traditionally, network teams have faced the challenge of pulling together data from isolated systems, often spending up to 70% of incident resolution time gathering necessary information. The MCP Server eliminates this inefficiency by offering a standardized API layer that aggregates real-time data across Versa’s ecosystem. Engineers can now:

  • Monitor appliance status and health metrics
  • Review alarm statuses and active alerts
  • Analyze device, interface, and path health
  • Verify routing summaries and configurations
  • Access template configurations and bandwidth analytics

All functionalities are accessible from a single interface, dramatically reducing mean-time-to-resolution by up to 45%.

Key Features of the Versa MCP Server

The MCP Server offers a suite of capabilities designed to enhance operational responsiveness:

  • Comprehensive API Coverage – Access a wide range of endpoints, including appliance status, hardware specs, alarm data, and routing configurations.
  • Real-Time Monitoring – Receive instant updates on system health, service status, and security violations through a unified interface.
  • Workflow Optimization – Effortlessly retrieve device templates, configuration data, and workflow information without switching platforms.
  • Alarm Correlation – Consolidated alarm view across all Versa products, with advanced filtering by severity, device, and time.

Open Source Availability

Versa’s MCP Server is freely available under an open-source license, encouraging organizations to customize and integrate it into their unique operational environments. Developers can start integrating today via this GitHub repository.

Expanding the Horizons of AI in Network Management

As AI continues to reshape the landscape of network and cybersecurity operations, solutions like Versa’s MCP Server provide the foundation for building more resilient, intelligent infrastructures. Companies focusing on AI-driven automation, such as Redwood Software’s launch of Redwood Insights, also highlight the growing trend of autonomous, AI-powered operations transforming enterprise IT strategies.

With tools like the MCP Server, enterprises can now bring AI deeper into their network management workflows, enhancing agility, reducing operational costs, and ultimately delivering better service experiences.
