Expanding Privacy-Focused AI Across Features

Apple already uses differential privacy to improve features such as Genmoji, where it gathers general insights from users without tying the data to individuals. This privacy-preserving approach is now being expanded to other tools like Image Playground, Image Wand, Writing Tools, and Memories Creation.

For instance, when improving Genmoji, Apple anonymously queries devices to check if specific prompt fragments have been used. Devices respond with randomized signals, ensuring even the company can’t trace any specific prompt back to a user.
